It was just another day in January for the likes of Bartleby, and the two relative new comers to the Harp & Fiddle Club, Jacob, a man who relied on his faith, and Alexander, a were-form mercenary. But things would change when a familiar face came to Bartleby looking once more for help. Donna Rykert had along with some others a year earlier been stalked by Max Kraus, a demented individual looking for revenge against those who had tortured him in his youth. The Harp & Fiddle club had failed to stop him last time, and he may have been responsible for the death of one of their early members. A young woman murdered in her van, down by the river.
This time was very much the same, Donna told them that her ex-husband, Dick, had been murdered and she feared she was next. Bartleby decided he should go check out the orphanage, St. Jerome REF, the last known location of Max, or as he referred to himself now, Krampus. Alexander went to check in on the only other survivor, while Jacob decided to let the hand of god guide him.
Bartleby found the place much as he remembered, but it also had signs of recent use, and like Stig last year found himself leaping from the second story window. This time it wasn’t chasing Max, but fleeing Krampus. He had changed and looked far more demonic now, with obsidian looking horns emerging out of his head and curving back, and the brown trench coat he wore blazed with hellfire. As he ran the axe, the same fireaxe Max had used last time barely missed him, and when it struck a tree the entirety of it went up in hellish flame. Jacob found himself driving by then, and was able to give brief shelter to his comrade, and they called Alexander for help.
Bartleby suggested running, but heedless of the danger Jacob stepped from his car, and drew his two-handed sword. Eventually Bartleby, Jacob and Alexander together fought the beast, and in the end felled him. With his dying breath the demon possessing Max laughed, and spoke of the darkness to come.
