At one of the many gatherings of the Harp & Fiddle Club, Father Daniel Andria stumbled in, injured, and seeking advice on fighting demons. Oswald was performing on stage, while Bartleby was quick to press for financial gain from the priest. Eventually he explained the cause of his injuries, as Elsa tended his wounds and attempted to tie his shoes together.
His story was as so:
- Several of the congregation had reported being stalked, and the police had ignored them, never finding anything. In an attempt to help he decided to follow David Holmes, and was rewarded for his effort by being assaulted by a creature he described as a demon. Hazy and not thinking clearly, he went seeking for information on how to fight it, not realizing the severity of his injury.
The Harp & Fiddle Club took him to the hospital and took upon themselves to solve this little mystery, and began by talking to the people being stalked. Richard Rykirk, Donna Rykirk, David Holmes, and Vinnie Cox. From this the H&F Club determined the shared history of the four, as they all spent time together in [[St. Jerome Residential Educational Facility]] back in the early eighties. Eventually they revealed another named Max that had also spent time there, before being sent to a mental institution.
From there the group decided to split up, with Dr. Sedrick going back to interview them more, while the rest ventured into the remains of St. Jeromes. Once inside they would discover signs of activity, and eventually a summoning circle. Meanwhile Dr. Sedrick would learn more about the mysterious max, and the groups previous bullying of the child, and the threats he made. That the Chrismas devil, Krampus, would punish them.
The H&F Club found the file on Max, full name Maximilian Kraus, and the mental facility he was sent to. Which they would visit after, with Bartleby managing to convince the people there that he was an officer, and authorized to see the files on Max, whereupon they learned he had escaped nearly a year ago, and been missing since.
Gaining an understanding of the situation, the Harp & Fiddle Club began to prepare to set a trap, using Richard Rykirk as bait, to draw out this stalker.
